Los Angeles-based developer CityView has taken another step forward with its plan to construct a mixed-use complex at 1800 Beverly Boulevard in Westlake, as the project heads to the City Planning Commission.
The proposed development, which calls for the demolition of a handful of small commercial and residential buildings, would create a five-story structure featuring 243 apartments - including 21 for very low-income households - and 3,500 square feet of ground-floor retail uses.
Humphreys & Partners Architects is designing the building, which would incorporate open-space amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, multiple courtyards and roof decks. Plans also call for 292 vehicle parking spaces in a partially-underground garage.
The Planning Department's staff report recommends that the Commission grant approval to the project. Previous environmental reports point to an 18-month construction timeline, starting sometime in 2018.
CityView is also behind the Pearl on Wilshire, which is nearing completion in Koreatown, and a five-story development now underway in Culver City.
