The Los Angeles Sentinel has unearthed renderings of the Angel Apartments, a proposed supportive housing development in the San Fernando Valley.
In June 2019, LA Family Housing filed an application with the Department of City Planning to redevelop a small commercial building at 8547-8549 N. Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills with a four-story, 54-unit apartment complex priced for households at the low- and extremely low-income level.
The contemporary low-rise structure would also include supportive services such as educational classes, employment assistance, substance abuse treatment, and tutoring, reports the Sentinel.
The project is the beneficiary of a $1.1 million grant from Kaiser Permanente through the Oakland-based non-profit's RxHome Fund. The $100-million fund is intended to create or preserve 3,250 units of affordable housing nationwide over the coming decade.
Earlier this year, LA Family Housing completed a $52-million supportive housing campus in the Sun Valley neighborhood.
