Renderings have emerged for a proposed mixed-use complex located one block from the North Hollywood terminus of Metro's Red and Orange Lines.
The Micropolitan at Chandler, slated for an approximately half-acre site at Chandler Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, would consist of a seven-story building featuring 82 apartments above 1,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space.
According to Killefer Flammang Architects, the project features strong vertical elements to act as a backdrop to the adjacent North Hollywood Park. Plans call for a podium plaza featuring a swimming pool, as well as a rooftop deck offering a barbeque area, outdoor movie screening facility and sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley.
The project is being developed by Micropolitan, a building and development subsidiary of the engineering firm PSOMAS.
A short distance west, plans recently emerged for a similar development which would replace a car rental lot adjacent to North Hollywood Station's Orange Line platforms. Across Lankershim Boulevard, Metro is formulating development guidelines for the nearly 16 acres of agency-owned property that surrounds the station.
