A year after our last visit, Prospera Hotels has completed construction of a new J.W. Marriott hotel complex in the Anaheim Resort District.
The 466-room hotel rose from a formerly empty lot along Clementine Street to the immediate north of Katella Avenue. The property abuts the Anaheim GardenWalk shopping mall, and includes a 350-car garage.
Morris Architects designed the 12-story, 138-foot tall building, which is of a contemporary style. The project includes amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, and multiple food-and-beverage venues.
A grand opening for the hotel was originally anticipated in April, though that event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It is now expected to make its debut in June, according to the Marriott website.
Another 12-story hotel - a 352-room Cambria - opened two blocks east in late 2019.
