Two-and-a-half years after breaking ground, Newport Beach-based construction and development firm R.D. Olson has completed work on an extended-stay hotel in Downtown Glendale.

Located at the southwest corner of Wilson Avenue and Louise Street, the six-story Residence Inn consists of 145 guest rooms, as well as amenities such as a fitness center, a pool deck, a meeting room, and a 24-hour market.  The podium-type building sits atop two levels of basement parking.

WATG and SANDdesign comprise the project's design team, which has a Mission-style exterior that references a nearby Baptist church.

The Residence Inn is one of several hotel projects currently in development in Downtown Glendale, including an 857-room establishment planned by Onni Group.

R.D. Olson has previously worked on hotel developments in the Beverly Grove neighborhood, and is planning an Art Deco-inspired tower on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
