Bond Companies, a real estate firm with operations in Chicago and Los Angeles, is concluding work for a wedge-shaped apartment building in Historic Filipinotown.
The mixed-use complex, located at 333 Belmont Avenue, rose from the ashes of a condominium development that was scuttled by the Great Recession. The triangular four-story building features 69 apartments above 1,100 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space and a parking garage.
As it nears completion, the project closely adheres to renderings drawn up by Los Angeles-based Lahmon Architects. The design takes advantage of the unique form of the property, using the triangular point fronting Temple Street to create balconies and outdoor dining space. Additional amenities are situated in a rooftop deck.
Temple Street has seen the rise of several similar mixed-use projects over the past several years, including residential-retail buildings from Trammell Crow Residential and 4Site Real Estate.
