After approximately 15 months of construction, exterior finishes are now being applied to a permanent supportive housing development in Westlake

The project, which is being developed by Deep Green Housing, is located at the northwest corner of 7th and Witmer Streets.  The six-story building, when complete, will provide 76 studio and one-bedroom apartments for formerly homeless persons, in addition to ground-floor retail space and a 34-car parking garage.

The colorful podium-type building was designed by HCRA, and includes amenities such as a community room and a courtyard.

The $30-million project will be priced for households earning at or below 30 and 50 percent of the area median income.

Across the street from the project site, a currently vacant lot is slated for the development of a 29-story apartment tower.
