In Downtown Inglewood, work looks to be all but complete for The Demilo, a new mixed-use apartment complex from Wood Partners.

The project, located on a corner lot at 201 N. La Brea Avenue, consists of a six-story structure featuring 144 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above ground-floor commercial space.

According to a leasing website, rents for The Demilo start at $2,550 for a studio unit and range up to $3,912 per month for a two-bedroom apartment.

Urban Architecture Lab designed the podium-type building, which is clad in a combination of stucco and corrugated metal panels. Amenity decks are located at the podium and roof levels.

The project site sits directly across La Brea Avenue from Astra, a larger mixed-use complex from Thomas Safran & Associates which features 242 apartments and a ground-floor Target. Another proposed mixed-use project, slated for a site a few blocks south, would bring an additional 143 apartments to a site at 317 S. La Brea Avenue. Those properties all sit within walking distance of the K Line's Downtown Inglewood Station.

Although Wood Partners has been an active developer in Los Angeles for years, the Demilo would appear to be an end to that era. The Atlanta-based developer announced this year that it will no longer pursue projects on the West Coast.
