Just off of Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, a more than $35-million affordable housing complex from Domus Development made its debut earlier this year.

The Ambrose apartments, located at 1611-1615 Montana Street, consists of a five-story building featuring 64 apartments above parking for 11 vehicles. All of the apartments are studio and one-bedroom units, save for a two-bedroom manager's unit.

According to a listing on the Los Angeles affordable housing registry, the apartments are all reserved for households earning no more than 30 percent of the area median income level.

KFA Architecture designed the Ambrose, which has a contemporary look and an exterior of plaster and fiber cement panels. The building also includes amenities such as community rooms, a central courtyard, and a rooftop deck.
