The property sits directly across San Fernando Road from a new housing and hotel complex which also comes from 4Site and Tighe. The complex, named Barranca for its primary street frontage, was approved to consist of a 100-room hotel, 102 apartments, and 5,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.

Both sites are located within the Cornfield-Arroyo Seco Specific Plan, which sets land use regulations for the river-adjacent areas in Lincoln Heights and Chinatown. Due to a relative lack of development under the plan’s rules since its implementation more than a decade ago, an amendment which would ease the construction of housing within its boundaries.
