The Wilshire & La Jolla Tower, a high-rise development planned just west of the Miracle Mile, has received the PCBC Grand Award for Best On-the-Boards Mixed-Use Project.
The proposed 15-story tower, slated for a surface parking lot at 6401 Wilshire Boulevard, would consist of 90 luxury apartments above 5,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a four-level parking garage.
Designed by Steinberg Architects, the building is described as featuring "irregular, angular balconies and projecting windows." Plans also call for a skydeck and outdoor amenities above the building's podium.
The mixed-use complex is proposed by Colorado-based real estate firm UDR, Inc., which is in the midst of construction or predevelopment on three high-rise developments along different segments of Wilshire Boulevard.
