Developers L.A. Family Housing and Many Mansions are planning a new affordable housing complex for veterans in the Lake View Terrace area, according to an initial study published last week by the City of Los Angeles.
The project, called the Summit View Apartments, would consist of four buildings terraced into a hillside property at 11681 Foothill Boulevard. Plans call for a toatl of 49 residential units - including studio and one-bedroom apartments - that would provide supportive housing for homeless veterans earning between 30 and 50 percent of the area median income.
Gonzales Goodale Architects is designing the collection of two- and three-story buildings, bisected by a series of landscaped decks and terrace gardens. Parking for 17 vehicles would also be provided on a surface parking lot adjacent to the buildings.
The project's environmental study envisions construction beginning in April 2019 and concluding by August 2020.
L.A. Family Housing is currently in the midst of construction for another affordable development in North Hollywood known as the Campus.
