SPF:architects has unveiled renderings for Harper17, a new condominium development in West Hollywood.
The project, located at 1274 N. Harper Avenue - one block south of Sunset Boulevard - will consist of a four-story building featuring 17 residential units atop partially underground parking for up to 39 vehicles.
“The panel system gives the building a strong style profile, but ultimately its most important function is programmatic,” said SPF founder and principal Zoltan Pali. “The precise way we patterned the aluminum and cement panels defines and separates the individual living spaces, resulting in a feel that’s more like a home amidst a community and less like the ubiquitous and repetitious apartment or condo compound.”
SPF worked to redesign the project starting in 2016, which was entitled for its current 17 units, but had previously been able to accommodate just 14 dwellings into the structure. A project description from SPF notes that all but three of the apartments will be corner units, with half the building set back to create an elevated front yard for residents, with a second courtyard located at the center of the building.
Christina Corporation, the Malibu-based developer behind Harper 17, expects to break ground on the project in Spring 2019.
