The folks behind the OC Vibe complex rising next to the Honda Center in Anaheim have unveiled the design of the $5-billion mega-project's first hotel.

Sena, which would be the first Marriott Autograph Collection hotel in Anaheim, is poised to open in 2029. Plans call for 300 guest rooms, as well as a new restaurant from Chef Jose Andres.

The project design team includes WATG, which will serve as architect and landscape architect, while Rockwell Group will design the hotel's interior spaces. Sage Hospitality Group will manager guest services.

The design for the building incorporates a glass exterior that is intended to change its appearance with the sky, capturing the colors of passing clouds and shifting light. The mid-rise building will include a terraced podium with gathering and dining space for hotel guests.

The new restaurant from Jose Andres, to be located on the ground floor, will overlook OC Vibe's south plaza and the adjacent Honda Center. The type of dining concept was not specified in a news release.

OC Vibe, which is being developed by the Samueli family, is to eventually include a total of 1,500 homes, two hotels (including Sena), and up to 1.1 million square feet of offices across 100 acres of land.

The initial phases of the project are set to open in 2027, including OC Vibe's first public plaza, a market hall dubbed Katella Commons, the 5,000-seat concert hall, and a mass-timber office building known as The Weave.
