Ten months after our last update, the wood skeleton of a new mixed-use development from GD Realty Group is complete in the Pasadena Playhouse District.

Located at the northwest corner of Union Street and El Molino Avenue, the project consists of a four-story building that will feature 40 apartments above 2,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 70 parking stalls in a subterranean garage.

Moule & Polyzoides is designing the Spanish Colonial revival style building, which will offer a mix of two-bedroom apartments and street-facing townhouses. 

Completion of the project at 635 E. Union Street was originally expected by Fall 2021.

The development site across the street from the Andalucia, a similar mixed-use project completed by Mack Real Estate Group and Mill Creek Development in 2017, as well as another Mill Creek project which recently broke ground a block east. Those residential developments will eventually surround a new park being built on a city-owned site located across El Molino from the GD Realty building.
