In Arlington Heights, a fourplex apartment building has made way for a larger mixed-use development.

Concrete and rebar pillars are now rising above the project site at 3617-3625 Venice Boulevard, where local real estate investment firm Schon Tepler Group is building a five-story, 28-unit development with street-fronting commercial space and parking.

Renderings of the project, which is designed by architect Sammie Tabrizi, depict a contemporary building with an exterior of smooth finish plaster.  A setback along the western property line would be used to create a tenant amenity space on the second floor.

Schon Tepler, which acquired the project site in 2018, received approvals to begin construction in March.

The company is also building new apartments in Palms and Echo Park, and has plans for mixed-use buildings in Rampart Village and Eagle Rock.
