A City-owned parking lot in San Pedro could give way for a mixed-use development, per a motion filed by 15th District Councilmember Joe Buscaino.
Last year, the Los Angeles Department of General Services issued a request for proposals to solicit interest in the 38,000-square-foot property at 462 W. 9th Street. The RFP received one response from an unspecified development firm, which has proposed an affordable housing complex featuring a ground-floor retail component.
As the project would include subsidized affordable housing, Buscanio has referred the proposal to the Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department for review.
