Earlier this month, construction officially commenced for The Marisol, a new senior housing complex in Huntington Beach.

Located at 2120 Main Street, the project from The Bluhm Family Foundation calls for the construction of a three-story structure featuring 214 studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings.

“The demographic shift in Orange County makes The Marisol’s development a timely and important addition to Huntington Beach,” said Andy Bluhm, a Trustee of The Bluhm Family Foundation, developer of The Marisol. “As the county’s older adult population continues to grow and outpace the state’s rate, there is a clear need for high-quality, thoughtfully designed senior living communities like The Marisol.”

VTBS Architects is designing the project. Rodrigo Vargas Design is also a member of the design team, while W.E. O’Neil is general contractor for the project and Momentum Senior Living will manage the property when completed.

The property, which is expected to open in 2028, is expected to serve a growing population of seniors in the Orange County area. Seniors are expected to make up 36 percent of Orange County's population by 2026, according to the Orange County Office on Aging.
