Just west of Dawson Avenue Park in Glendora, construction is underway for a new senior housing complex, general contractor R.D. Olson announced last week.
The Vistas at Glendora, a development Clearwater Senior Living, will rise from a property located at 333 W. Dawson Avenue. Plans call for a two-story, 108,000-square-foot building containing 117 residential units.
Clearwater will divide the apartments into 88 assisted living units and 29 memory care units, which will offer specialized care for persons living with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans.
Parking for the project is to be located in two surface lots flanking the building, according to plans approved by the City of Glendora.
“There is a significant shortage of senior living facilities in the Los Angeles area, and as the population ages the need for modern, highly amenitized facilities will continue to grow,” said R.D. Olson Construction president Bill Wilhelm in a news release. “Vistas at Glendora will provide excellent care for area seniors in an environment that is warm, welcoming and complete with a wide variety of activities and amenities for residents to enjoy.”
AO and interior design firm Klant & Associates serve as the project's architectural team. Renderings depict an exterior of precast stone and brick veneer. The building will include amenities such as a wine vault, a barbeque area, a theater, activity rooms, a fitness center, outdoor courtyards, and dining areas.
Completion of the Vistas at Glendora is expected in Fall 2022.
