A new development featuring assited living and memory care apartments for seniors is planned just west of Beverly Hills' La Cienega Park.

The project, which is being developed by Beverly Hills-based Panorama Senior Housing, would rise from a property located at 825-837 S. Holt Avenue, replacing three 1930s duplexes.  Plans call for the construction of a five-story building featuring 80 dwellings, split between 62 assisted-living apartments and 18 rooms for residents suffering from cognitive impairtments.

KTGY Architecture + Planning is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, which would have a U-shaped footprint wrapping a multi-purpose patio.  Other common features would include a roofop deck, a barbeque area, and a putting green.

In addition to housing and open-air amenity decks, the project would include a dining room serving three daily meals, an activity room, a theater, a hair salon, and a fitness room.

“There is a very serious under-supply of assisted living communities and senior housing in general, especially in urban areas,” said Panorama Senior Housing founder Daniel Kianmahd in a statement. “It’s important that we create places that are close to residents’ families, that integrate seamlessly with their surrounding neighborhood, and that bring the highest level of care in an attractive, healthy and comfortable environment.

Construction of the senior housing facility is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2021.  Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2022.

In addition to its location a block west of La Cienega Park, which is poised to undergo a renovation, the project site also sits one block east of a similar senior housing facility planned on Sherbourne Drive.
