Developer CGI Strategies has demolished a series of low-rise buildings at the corner of 3rd Street and Mariposa Avenue in Koreatown, clearing the way for the construction of a new residential-retail complex.
The proposed seven-story building, approved earlier this year by the City of Los Angeles, will feature 121 residential units and 4,600 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The project will offer a mixture of live/work, one- and two-bedroom dwellings, of which 17 will be reserved for very low income households.
Warren Techentin Architecture is designing the podium-type building, which will include open space ameniteis such as a roof deck and a fitness center. Renderings show a contemporary mid-rise structure, clad with brick veneer at the street corner.
