A mixed-use complex has broken ground in Westminster's Little Saigon District.
The project, called Bolsa Row, is located on a six-acre site at the intersection of Bolsa Avenue and Brookhurst Street. Plans call for the construction of multiple buildings, including a 225,000-square-foot apartment complex, a full-service hotel, and retail space.
The five-story, 148-key hotel - which will be operated by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts - will include restaurants, a bar and lounge, a pool deck, and 48,000 square feet of banquet space atop a 700-car subterranean parking garage.
The apartment complex, another five-story edifice, will consist of 200 studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings in addition to amenities and 37,500 square feet of attached retail space.
The project is designed to evoke a French colonial architectural theme, including a replica of Vietnam's Bến Thà nh Market clock tower.
R.D. Olson Construction, an Orange County-based firm, is serving as the project's general contractor.
“As first-generation Vietnamese-Americans with deep roots in Westminster’s Little Saigon District, my family is especially motivated to create a city center that will serve the needs of the local community,” said Jaimie Nguyen of developer IP Westminster, LLC in a news release. The firm is led by wife and husband Joann and Bac Pham.
Other members of the project team include KTGY Architecture + Planning, interior designer Cole Martinez Curtis, VCA Structural Engineering, and MJS Landscape Architecture.
Completion of Bolsa Row is expected in Winter 2021.
