Los Angeles-based developer CityView has started construction on a multifamily residential development in Warner Center.
The project, located at the northeast corner of Vanowen Street and Alabama Avenue, will consist of a six-story building featuring 174 rental apartments and parking for 258 vehicles.
Ken Stockton Architects designed the podium-type building, which replaced a small restaurant. A rendering portrays a boxy mid-rise structure.
A construction timeline for the project is unclear. CityView is currently int he midst of construction on similar developments in Culver City and Koreatown, and has submitted plans for additional multifamily residential buildings in Westlake and Historic South Central.
Just east, a similar mixed-use building by Panoptic Development is set to break ground this summer at the intersection of Vanowen and Canoga Avenue. Both properties sit north across the street from the 47-acre site once operated by Rocketdyne, which is being purchased by the company which owns the Mall of America.
