Construction is now underway for another mixed-use development featuring rental housing and ground-floor retail in Palms.

The latest project, located at 3670 Motor Avenue, is being developed by Los Angeles-based real estate investment firm RBM of California.  Plans call for a six-story building at the northeast corner of Motor and Tabor street, featuring 42 one-bedroom apartments - with four affordable units - above 1,724 square feet of ground-floor retail space and structured parking for 52 vehicles.

DE Architects is designing the project, which will consist of five levels of wood-frame construction above a single-story concrete podium and one basement level.  Renderings depict a contemporary look, featuring an inner courtyard with a swimming pool, a fitness center, and an outdoor deck at the building's roof.

A project website indicates that each apartment will include quartz countertops, vinyl plank flooring, walk-in closets, and in-unit washer-dryer sets.

Several similar developments are now planned or under construction at 3641, 3741, and 3766 Motor Avenue.

RBM of California and DE Architects recently completed another mixed-use apartment building in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood.
