The Pointe on Vermont, which is now open for residents, consists of a four-story edifice at the southeast corner of 76th Street and Vermont Avenue. The project includes a mix of 50 studio and one-bedroom apartments - ranging from 415 to 602 square feet in size.
“The completion of Pointe on Vermont marks a milestone for EAH Housing, A2Z Enterprises and for the city of Los Angeles,” said EAH Housing president and chief executive officer Laura Hall in a prepared statement. “With the help of the voters and Measure HHH, 68 people now have a place to call home and can move forward with their lives.”
Roughly half of the apartments are set aside as supportive housing for formerly homeless residents, while the remaining 24 units are priced for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the Los Angeles area median income. One residential unit is reserved for an on-site property manager.
Rents for the Pointe, according to EAH Housing, will range from $1,192 to $1,271 per month.
FSY Architects designed the mixed-use building, which includes a community room, on-site case management offices, a recording studio, and just over 1,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
St. Joseph Center has been tapped to provide on-site services to residents.
The project, originally budgeted at $25-million, is funded in part through the $1.2-billion in bonds approved by Los Angeles voters through Measure HHH. Additional financing came from Los Angeles County and US Bank.
