Less than a half-mile north of the crane forest at the $650-million USC Village, construction is underway on a smaller student housing project.
The low-rise development, dubbed Element, is rising from an approximately one-acre site at the northwest corner of Hoover Street and Adams Boulevard, replacing a shopping center. The new housing complex will consist of a four-story structure, featuring 46 townhomes and 4,100 square feet of ground-level commercial floor area.
According to an official website by developer Stuho, each of the two-story housing units will offer three-bedroom, three-bathroom floor plans with high-quality finishes. In-unit features will include remote controlled air conditioning in each bedroom, stainless steel appliaces, washer-dryer sets, high-speed internet and satellite television service.
Communcal amenities will include a swimming pool, a fitness center, a terrace lounge and on-site parking.
Located at 2595 Hoover Street, Element is located within walking distance of the USC campus and multiple stations on Metro's Expo Line.
Completion of the project is expected in Fall 2016.
