The project, located at 1630 N. San Pablo Street, consists of a six-story structure which will feature 95 four-bedroom suites - housing up to 272 students - atop 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

KTGY Architecture + Planning is designing the building, which consists of five levels of wood-frame construction above a two-level podium.  Plans call for stud rooms, lounges, and outdoor amenities such as a rooftop deck and a central courtyard.

Completion of the housing complex is anticipated in late 2020.

The project is being developed by Austin, Texas-based American Campus Communities, which previously built the 177-unit Currie Hall on Alcazar Street.

The two projects flank a 200-room Hyatt House hotel now under construction at 1550 N. San Pablo Street.

Other projects in the works at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center campus include a new Restorative Care Village and the proposed adaptive reuse of the historic General Hospital Building.
