The Emerson Apartments, located at 4760-4766 Melrose Avenue, are being developed by Affirmed Housing Group.  Plans call for the construction of a five-story edifice which will contain 39 apartments for formerly homeless persons.

According to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the apartments will be priced at rates affordable to households earning at or below 35, 50, and 60 percent of the area median income.  Rents will be set at $509 per month.

The contemporary podium-type building is being designed by Togawa Smith Martin.

Completion of the roughly $24.1-million development is expected in Summer 2021, according to the Affirmed Housing website.

The developer is also in the midst of construction on similar supportive housing developments in Westlake and South Los Angeles.
