An early 20th century home in Historic Filipinotown could make way for a permanent supportive housing development, according to architectural plans published by the Echo Park Neighborhood Council.
The project, a joint venture between Restore Neighborhoods LA and Genesis LA, would rise from a single parcel at 405 N. Westlake Avenue. Plans call for the construction of a four-story edifice featuring 18 residential units and no on-site parking.
Lehrer Architects is designing the proposed development, which is depicted in an elevation as a contemporary low-rise structure.
The proposed apartment complex is described as a by-right development.
The project site sits just north of Temple Street, where developer Trammell Crow Residential recently completed Alexan Bahay, a mixed-use building featuring 200 apartments and ground-floor retail space.
A similar mixed-use structure is planned a block west at the intersection of Temple and Alvarado Street.
