Clifford Beers Housing has wrapped up vertical construction for MLK1101, an $11-million supportive housing complex near Exposition Park.
The project, named for its location at 1101 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard consists of a four-story building with 26 studio, one- and three-bedroom apartments, reserved for low-income households, veterans, and the chronically homeless. The units are priced to be affordable to persons making between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income, translating to monthly rents between $435 and $1,079.
LOHA is designing the building, which includes an elevated community garden and amenity space one level above street level. The building's ground plane will be activated with a small retail space.
The project is being designed to LEED Platinum standards.
