The latest update to the Beverly Hills active projects list reveals two new applications for projects which would 1930s and 1940s buildings with larger apartment complexes.
At 214-216 S. Hamilton Drive, co-owners Hamilton Drive, LLC and SDLP Holdings, LLC filed an application in late April to raze and redevelop an existing triplex and duplex with an eight-story, 99-unit apartment building.
Though unquestionably larger than most of its immediate neighbors, the project falls well short of the biggest development in the works for the surrounding stretch of Hamilton. Across the street at 217 Hamilton, plans were filed last year for a 14-story, 210-unit Builder's Remedy development.
One mile northwest at 401 N. Oakhurst Drive, applicant DH 1821 Daly, LLC has plans for more height - but a lot less housing.
The proposed project, which would replace an existing six-unit residential building at Oakhurst's intersection with Alden Drive, calls for the construction of an 11-story building featuring 25 homes.
Los Angeles County Assessor's records indicate that the property sold for $3.38 million in August 2023.
The mid-rise building would sprout two blocks to the south of a property at 457 N. Oakhurst Drive, where a smaller six-unit condominium complex is in the works.
