Developers AMLI Residential and Sares-Regis Group continue with construction at a pair of multifamily residential complexes in Downtown Long Beach.

AMLI Park Broadway, which broke ground in April at the corner of Broadway and Pacific Avenue, will consist of a six-story building containing 222 residential units, 8,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a subterranean parking structure. Plans call for a contemporary podium-type complex, featuring staggered roof heights to match the profiles of surrounding buildings.

Immediately north, Sares-Regis Group broke ground in July on the Pacific - a similar multifamily project fronting 3rd Street.
The seven-story building, designed by Studio One Eleven, will feature 163 residential units - including street-level townhomes, studio units and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The project will set aside 17 units for moderate-income households.
Completion of both projects is anticipated in 2019.
The private developments are joined by the $520-million rebuild of the Long Beach Civic Center, which is now under construction on Ocean Boulevard.
