Premium Cable Network Showtime has relocated its West Coast headquarters from Westwood's Oppenheimer Tower to The Lot Studios in West Hollywood, according to multiple published reports.
The 50,000-square-foot space will house 125 employees along the east side of the campus at Santa Monica Boulevard and Formosa Avenue. Showtime is joining the Oprah Winfrey Network, which relocated its headquarters to The Lot in 2014.
Property owner CIM Group has undertaken an expansion of the historic campus over the past five years, starting with the building that now houses OWN and Showtime on Formosa Avenue. The other two additions to the campus include the 108,000-square-foot Formosa West building, completed in 2017, and the 98,000-square-foot Courtyard Building, which is now under construction.
Apple is reportedly in talks to lease 150,000 square feet of office space at LBA Realty's One Culver redevelopment in Culver City, reports The Real Deal.
The 1980s building, formerly the corporate headquarters of Sony Pictures, recently completed a multi-year renovation after the movie studio relocated to a new building on its neighboring campus. LBA has signed co-working firm WeWork and Equinox Fitness to occupy the property since the completion of construction.
Apple is just one month removed from announcing its intentions to open a new campus in Culver City to house its studio and content division within the next three years. It has already leased a 128,000-square-foot office building under construction next to Culver City Station; a lease at One Culver would increase its footprint to nearly 280,000 square feet.
The news comes as tech giants sign a flurry of large leases throughout the Los Angeles area, including Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Netflix.
Hudson Pacific Properties and Macerich announced this week that Google has leased all 584,000 square feet of office space as One Westside, the upcoming redevelopment of the Westside Pavilion shopping mall.
The Mountain View-based company is scheduled to take up residence in 2022.
