The project, which replaced a surface parking lot at 1230 Ingraham Street, will eventually consist of a seven-story structure containing 121 apartments above a semi-subterranean parking garage with accommodations for 42 vehicles.
KFA Architecture is designing the project, which outside of a single one-bedroom manager's apartment, will consist entirely of studio units averaging 400 square feet in size. Each of the supportive housing units will include private kitchens and bathrooms, with access to common amenities including a rooftop deck, a landscaped courtyard, and a street-level community room.
The Ingraham Apartments are being funded through a variety of sources, including Los Angeles County's affordable housing trust fund, Measure HHH, and approximately $32.5 million in tax-exempt bonds.
SRO Housing and KFA Architecture are also in the end stages of construction at a similar 100-unit supportive housing complex a few blocks north on Hartford Avenue.
