Six months after breaking ground in Koreatown, construction is ramping up for a multifamily residential complex near the intersection of 8th Street and Kingsley Drive.
The project, which is being developed by Sabet Management Corp., is now rising from a property located at 750-762 S. Kingsley Drive. Plans call for a six-story structure featuring 68 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - with six set aside for very low-income households - above parking for 35 vehicles.
The podium-type building, which is designed by Warren Techentin Architecture, will be clad in black metal panels at completion. Planned amenities include a courtyard and a fitness center.
The L.A. Business Journal reported that Sabet obtained $15.2 million in construction financing for the project in July 2020.
The development site sits one block on Kingsley from a currently vacant site where developer Jamison Services, Inc. has proposed the construction of a larger seven-story building containing 114 apartments above parking space.
Three blocks west at the intersection of 8th Street and Serrano Avenue, construction is now underway for a pair of mixed-use projects featuring multifamily housing and ground-floor retail space.
