Nine months after commencing work in Exposition Park, the a new multifamily residential complex from SoLa Impact is starting to take shape at the former site of the Alex Fish Market.

The new development, located at 1451 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, will eventually consist of a five-story building featuring 50 one-bedroom apartments atop a community room at ground level.

Approved plans rely on Transit Oriented Communities development incentives to permit a larger building than allowed by zoning rules, which also will not include parking.

EDDG, Inc. is designing 1451 MLK, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure. Plans show that in addition to housing, the project will include open space such as a rear yard and side yards.
