After more than nine months of construction, wood framing is taking shape at the future site of a new permanent supportive housing complex in Hollywood from non-profit developer PATH Ventures.

Located at 5627 Fernwood Avenue, the project will consist of a six-story building featuring 60 apartments - including 59 permanent supportive housing units and one manager's unit - accompanied by on-site social services offices and a small parking garage for 14 cars.

The Architects Collective is designing the PATH Villas Hollywood, which will have a U-shaped footprint wrapping a landscaped central courtyard. The contemporary podium-type building will also feature a community room and a rooftop deck.

According to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the apartments are to be priced for households earning at or below 50 percent of the area median income. Rents would range from $509 per month for a studio unit to $909 per month for a one-bedroom apartment.
