Seven months after we last checked in, wood framing is nearly complete for a new small lot subdivision a few blocks north of Venice Boulevard in Mar Vista.

The project, which replaced a 1950s fourplex at 3601 S. McLaughlin Avenue, consists of six single-family dwellings in a mix of three- and four-bedroom layouts. Each will include a two-car garage at street level.
Venice-based Design Universal is the architect behind houses, which will stand four stories in height and also front Charnock Road.
The property was entitled for development by Lewis Futterman.
