The $300-million redevelopment of the Neptune Marina apartments is finally underway.

Greystar Real Estate Partners, which recently took over a majority stake in the project, has razed the series of two-story apartment buildings that long occupied the property at Via Marina and Marquesas Way.  A series of four-story podium buildings will rise in their place, creating 526 apartments flanked by a waterfront promenade.

TCA Architects is designing the multifamily residential complex, which is inspired by mid-century modern design, reflecting the 1960s roots of Neptune Marina and the larger Marina del Rey community.

The project flanks the similar AMLI MDR development - which is also designed by TCA - as well as a proposed Marriott hotel.
