Less than two years after breaking ground in downtown Culver City, work is now coming to an end at The Culver Steps development.
The mixed-use project, which comes from Hackman Capital Partners, is located at the intersection of Culver and Washington Boulevards. The four-story building features 75,000 square feet of creative office space - which has been fully leased by Amazon Studios - along with 40,000 square feet of retail and a 35,000-square-foot public plaza.
EYRC Architects designed The Culver Steps, which takes its name from the grand staircase that connects the ground-level plaza to an elevated pavilion. The landscaped stairs also double as amphitheater seating for outdoor events. SWA Group.was the project's landscape architect, and KPRS Construction served as the general contractor.
Across the street, Hackman is also working on the $620-million expansion of The Culver Studios campus - which is set to become the new home of Amazon Studios, along with several other Amazon subsidiaries. Nearby, the $300-million Ivy Station development is underway and will house HBO's West Coast headquarters.
