Construction of a new multifamily residential complex at 1800 W. Beverly Boulevard is on track for completion in late 2023, Los Angeles-based developer Cityview announced this month.
The project, which was recently given the name "Belle on Bev," occupies the southern side of Beverly Boulevard between Bonnie Brae Street and Burlington Avenue. The six-story building will feature 243 residential units, 3,500 square feet of ground-level retail space, and a 292-car garage at completion.
Cityview secured approvals for the project using density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, 21 of studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments will be set aside for rent as very low-income affordable housing.
AC Martin is serving as the executive architect for Belle on Bev, which is shown in renderings as a contemporary podium-type building. Other members of the project team include Clark Building Group and Nadia Geller Design.
On-site amenities are highlighted by a speakeasy with a cocktail bar and jukebox which will be available for use by residents, or private events. Other features will include a pool, rooftop decks, a gym, a courtyard, and a yoga studio.
Additionally, plans call for design elements and an art piece on the exterior of the building which reference the surrounding Historic Filipinotown neighborhood.
Cityview is also in the midst of construction at similar mixed-use and multifamily residential developments in Historic South-Central, Gardena, and Carthay. Additionally, the company recently initiated entitlements for a 441-unit apartment complex in Westchester.
