Just off of Hillhurst Avenue in Los Feliz, a single-family home completed in 1920 could be razed and redevelopment with multifamily housing.
The proposed development, recently submitted to the Planning Department, would rise from a property located at 4516 W. Finley Avenue. Plans call for the construction of a new four-story edifice featuring 21 one- and two-bedroom apartments atop parking for 28 vehicles.
Daiana Yerevanian Kamberian of 4516 Finley, LLC is listed as the applicant behind the project, which would use Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger building than normally allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, two of the new apartments would be set aside for rent as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.
Kazanchyan Design is the architect behind the proposed apartment complex, which is portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise building named "Monarch."
Monarch would rise just over a half-mile north of the intersection of Hillhurst Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, where several larger mixed-use projects are in the works. That includes a new development that would bring 29 apartments and retail to a site next to the Vista Theatre, as well as a 181-unit complex slated to replace a Goodwill store.
