One block south of the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, an early 1940s apartment building has been cleared for the construction of the latest infill housing complex from Wiseman Residential.
According to multiple readers, work is now in progress at 7050 W. Hawthorn Avenue, where Wiseman secured permits earlier this year for the construction of a new seven-story building featuring apartments above a two-level podium and a single floor of subterranean parking.
The project will include a total of 12 below market-rate units, including seven priced at the very low-income level, three priced at the low-income level, and two priced at the moderate-income level.
Uriu & Associates is listed as the architect behind the project in city records.
In addition to its location near Hollywood Boulevard, the proposed project would also rise one block to the east of La Brea Avenue, where a commercial complex is poised to make way for a similar multifamily residential complex with 100 apartments.
Los Angeles-based Wiseman Residential is one of the city's most prolific developers of infill housing, typically constructing by-right projects in neighborhoods such as Palms, Venice, and Mid-Wilshire.
