Corazon del Valle affordable housing in the home stretch at 14545 Lanark Street

Just west of Van Nuys Boulevard in in Panorama City, construction is in the home stretch for the Corazón del Valle apartments, a new affordable and supportive housing complex from Holos Communities.

The project, which replaced former L.A. County Department of Public Social Services offices at 14545 Lanark Street, is a podium-type building which will feature 180 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments at completion. Of that total, 178 homes are to be occupied by formerly unhoused persons and low-income households.

A November 2023 update from Holos shows that smooth white stucco now wraps the exterior of the five-story buildings, with new planters taking shape at the podium level and a rooftop solar array already in place.

At the time the project commenced work in early 2022, it was expected that the apartments would cater to single adults earning up to $12,400 per year or a family of four earning no more than $70,000 per year. Information on renting at the building can be found at its official website.

Perkins&Will designed Corazón del Valle, which will include space at the ground floor for the San Fernando Valley Community Health Clinic for medical care, dental work, and behavioral health services.

The project is expected to open this year.
