A duplex just off of Reseda Boulevard could make way for new affordable housing, according to an Executive Directive 1 application filed recently with the Planning Department.
The project from Angeleno Investments, slated for a site located at 6942 N. Baird Avenue, calls for the construction of a new four-story building featuring 38 one- and two-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
Requested approvals include density bonus incentives to permit waivers from certain zoning rules. All of the homes would be set aside for rent by low- and moderate-income households.
Open Office is designing 6942 Baird, which is portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure clad in metal and fiber cement panels.
A larger affordable housing development, also planned using ED1, is slated for a site a few blocks away at 6843 N. Baird Avenue.
