A single-family home built in the 1950s in South Los Angeles could be cleared for mixed-income apartments, according to plans submitted recently to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project from Kingdom Builders, LLC - an entity linked to Limon Management - would rise from a property located at 943 W. 82nd Street,. Plans call for the construction of a new four-story building featuring 39 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

In exchange for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure with more housing than would typically be allowed by zoning rules, the project would include 11 units of deed-restricted affordable housing priced for very low-income renters.

Commun is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, according to plans.

The development site is located a short walk north from the busy intersection of Vermont and Manchester Avenues, where construction is wrapping up for a mixed-use complex featuring affordable housing, a new boarding school, and a Target.
