New affordable housing is slated to replace a multi-tenant commercial building in West Los Angeles, according to a new Executive Directive 1 application filed with the Department of City Planning.
The proposed project from SCAH-LA, slated to rise from a property at 2023 Westwood Boulevard, calls for the construction of a new nine-story building calls for the construction of a new nine-story building featuring 124 apartments - including 123 low-income units and one market-rate manager's unit. Parking for 12 vehicles would be located at street level.
As a fully affordable housing project, plans call for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules, as well as waivers from other standards.
MVE + Partners is designing 2023 Westwood, which is portrayed in renderings as a contemporary mid-rise structure clad in stucco.
The proposed project would rise from a mid-block site north of Olympic Boulevard and a new mixed-use building with 92 apartments now taking shape at 2121 Westwood Boulevard.
Other projects from SCAH-LA are slated for sites in Mid-Wilshire, Westchester, and Westlake.
