In the unincorporated community of Westmont, wood framing is taking shape for a new permanent supportive housing complex from co-developers Coalition for Responsible Community Development and Little Tokyo Service Center.
Located at the northeast corner of 95th Street and Normandie Avenue, the project will consist of a a three-story, 44-foot-tall building containing 57 apartments and parking for six vehicles. Of that total, 56 apartments will be SRO-style units reserved for households earning no more than 30 percent of the area median income level.
According to a staff rpeort to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the anticipated rent for a subsidized unit - including utilities - is $662 per month.
Another vacant lot located across the street from SRO Housing's project is slated for the construction of a pocket park.
The project site sits diagonally across the intersection from a recently-completed pocket park.
