In North Hollywood, a pair of fourplexes could make way for new affordable housing, per an application to the Planning Department revealed via ATC.
The proposed Executive Directive 1 project from HVN Development, slated for a property at 5151 Denny Avenue, calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 80 two-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
As an affordable housing project, 5151 Denny is eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. Save for a manager's apartment, all of the new homes are to be rented to moderate-, low-, and very low-income households in exchange for the incentives. That includes replacement housing for the existing structures.
Stockton Architects is designing the proposed development, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building clad in white and blue stucco.
The project is one of dozens of Executive Directive 1 projects in the works from HVN Development, which recently started work on a similar project near Expo/Bundy Station in Sawtelle.
