A 1940s fourplex in Mar Vista could make way for new affordable housing from HVN Development, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The proposed development, slated for a property at 3608 Centinela Avenue, calls for clearing all existing improvements to make way for the construction of a new five-story edifice featuring 49 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments without automobile parking.
As a fully affordable housing project, the proposed apartment complex is eligible for additional development incentives by the Citywide Housing Incentive Program, which recently went into effect.
Stockton Architects is designing the proposed development, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary stucco-clad building.
The proposed project is a familiar one for HVN Development, which has plans for dozens of similar projects across Los Angeles County. However, unlike prior applications which utilized the Executive Directive 1 entitlement pathway, the Mar Vista project makes use of the city's new Expanded Administrative Review process.
